St. Fintina’s is a small co-educational, multi denominational school under the patronage of Louth and Meath Education and Training Board. One of the major advantages of a smaller school is teachers have a greater opportunity to get to know each student individually.
The school provides a safe, carefully monitored environment for students. Parents can be assured that their children are given the individual attention they need. There are open lines of communication between parents and the school.
Our school is a vibrant educational community getting on with the business of providing quality teaching and learning.
St. Fintina’s is a supportive and inclusive community with a professional and committed staff providing our students with a holistic education to enable each individual achieve full potential.
The school year 2009-2010 saw the introduction of laptops for all First Year Pupils. Educational leaders everywhere are seeking to make learning more acceptable and relevant to their students and our initiative here in St. Fintina’s is a great example of putting such ambitions into practice.
The project has been very successful, it has grown year on year and the laptop is a huge learning aid. It is our aim to continue to introduce laptops for all our first year groups. All student’s in St Fintina’s now use laptops/tablet PC’s. Teachers are working with student to facilitate their learning. Today’s students are digital learners. Teachers in St Fintina’s are enabling their students to become 21st century students as they function in an online collaborative, research-based environment – researching, analysing, synthesising, critiquing, evaluating and creating new knowledge.
The school will move to a new state-of- the –art campus in 2016 adjacent to the local primary school. This facility will further enhance the quality of educating being provided by the school.
